Terms and Conditions

My Terms and Conditions ensure that I can provide the very best service to my customers. It is assumed by confirming your booking with me that you have read and accepted the following...

Cancelling/Rescheduling Appointments

I request (and shall provide) at least 12 - 24 hours notice where possible for appointments that need to be rescheduled or cancelled.

For appointments cancelled with no notice

Cancellation within 24 hours of the appointment will result in a charge of 50% of the appointment fee made via bank transfer (this is charged at my discretion, and does not include cancellations for illness.) This came into force in January 2024.

Payment

Payment is due in full at the time of each grooming appointment. I will no longer be accepting payment after my departure.

Payment is taken in CASH or BACS form. I cannot accept cheques or card payments.

I estimate my prices based on:

  • the pet's size

  • the skill required for the service

  • the condition of the skin and coat

  • the behaviour of the pet

  • the time required to carry out the groom.

For this reason prices quoted upon booking are an estimation only and are subject to change upon closer examination of the pet.

Your Pet's Health and Welfare

Your pet's health and welfare is of highest importance to me whilst under my care. It is crucial that I am made aware of any known allergies or pre-existing medical conditions so I can cater the grooming process to your pet's needs.

For safety reasons I am limited to grooming only those animals that fit safely within the dimensions of my portable grooming table. These measurements are 81 cm in length and 51 cm in width. For the same reason I can only groom animals weighing less than 10kg. Should it become apparent that your pet does not safely fit within these dimensions we reserve the right to terminate the appointment. Due to health reasons, from January 2022 I shall only be able to accept pets weighing less than 10kg.

In line with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, I reserve the right to stop an appointment with immediate effect if an animal begins to show pain, distress or illness. In this instance you shall be charged for my time and the services used.

In the occurrence of an existing (yet unknown) injury or illness being detected during the grooming process, you shall be informed so that necessary veterinary treatment can be sought. Please be aware that I cannot be held accountable for pre-existing medical conditions that are exacerbated by the grooming process.

In the unlikely event of an accident I am fully insured with Pet Plan Sanctuary, as well as being first aid trained, and will seek immediate veterinary treatment with your consent.

The Grooming Process and Coat Care

I respectfully request that a regular grooming schedule is implemented at home alongside my services. De-matting with clippers should not be considered an alternative to regular brushing and coat maintenance carried out by the owner. I am more than happy to offer guidance in the best ways to maintain your pet's coat between appointments at no extra charge.

My work is guided by the Animal Welfare Act 2006, which prevents me from causing pain and distress through the removal of matted hair. For this reason I am limited to spending no longer than 10 minutes brushing out tangles and will instead remove areas of matted hair with clippers only. As of January 2022, a additional fee of £5 will be added on to the cost of a groom for instances of regular, repeated and preventable matting. Owners shall be notified of this fee at the beginning of the grooming process. Failure to pay will result in a cancelled appointment, at full cost.

I recommend that all pet customers are treated regularly for flea and parasite infestations using a veterinary prescribed treatment. I do not provide treatment for parasites, although my grooming products can aid in the removal of mild infestations. Should a severe infestation be discovered during the grooming process I reserve the right to stop the appointment until treatment has been carried out for both the pet and the home.

UNDER VETERINARY GUIDANCE I DO NOT CARRY OUT THE FOLLOWING:

  • Anal gland expression

  • Tooth de-scaling and polishing

  • Ear hair plucking

Feedback and Customer Service

Customer service is incredibly important to me. Should you be dissatisfied with any aspect of your pet's grooming experience please let me know, ideally within 24 hours of the appointment. You can contact me via email at Pandaspetpampering@hotmail.com

Health and Safety

I reserve the right to terminate an appointment should I feel unsafe at any point. Aggressive or abusive behaviour will not be tolerated from either humans or animals.

Failure to provide a safe environment for me to set up my equipment with access to a power point or extension cable, as well as use of a suitable bath/shower/sink will result in a refusal of services. Failure to comply with my covid-safe procedures will also result in a terminated appointment at full charge.

I kindly request that smoking is kept to a minimum in the room I am are working in for the duration of the appointment, and other pets and children are kept at a safe distance whilst I am operating my grooming equipment for both my safety and theirs.

Data Protection and Privacy Policy

At the start of your pet's first appointment you will be asked for your consent to have photographs taken of your pet. These photographs are used for marketing material, Panda's Pet Pampering social media accounts and my business portfolio. Please let me know should you not wish for your pet to be photographed.

I take data protection very seriously, and for this reason Panda's Pet Pampering fully complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 with regards to the storage and use of your personal data.
